Introduction

 Hey Yall!

I'm Fannie Vazquez (she/her) and I am a third-year studying psychology with (hopefully) a minor in studio art and Spanish. I am from North Chicago/Waukegan, Illinois although my mom is from Mexico and my dad from El Salvador. I am back on campus and excited about the nice weather we've been having.

I choose this class because it's different from most of the courses I've taken at Lawrence. There has always been a focus on the white male perspective and since freshman studies, I struggled with feeling like a case study. Apart from that, I took a psychology course fall term where we talked about the Holocaust and how trauma is created with a focus on perpetrators. With this course, I hope to take a step back and learn about different experiences.

Anyways..Thanks for reading!

  1. It will be interesting to hear your perspective on historical and generational trauma throughout the course. Theory in relationship to the Holocaust gives us a deep understanding of the particular trauma created by racial and ethnic marginalization.
